Kevin Jackson first came to Kenya in April 2011 through ‘Original Volunteers UK’. He was hosted by Francis Leteipan (Country Project Coordinator) and his family at Olasiti Village in Maasai Land. He was given the Maasai name ‘Lemayian Lashan’ because he came during a very severe dry season and drought, and on his arrival it started raining. Lemayian means ‘Blessed’ and Leshan means ‘Rains’.

Kevin is a Christian Missionary who is much loved by our community in Olasiti. In December 2012, Kevin brought 5 volunteers (Linda Austin, Bruce Ladebu, Erika Ladebu, Christian Ladebu and Erin Ladebu) from the USA to work as part of our Maasai Volunteer program. They helped establish the ‘Naserian Children’s Home’ after realizing a need to provide a safe place for Children who did not have a place to call home.

We have missed him greatly, but on May 2018, he returned to Kenya with 15 Students from the University of New Mexico. As part of his stay we also made one of his dreams come true, by helping him to organise a traditional and colourful Maasai Wedding, where he wedded Hannah Jackson on Wednesday 20th May 2018.
