Overview

Volunteers can participate in securing sustainable livelihoods for the Maasai people, by putting place strategies and programs that enable profitable participation for the community. We are always looking for new ideas for income generating projects that will empower rural communities.

This is the perfect platform for volunteers to engage with rural Maasai communities and share skills and knowledge, and introduce innovative solutions to problems caused by drought or flooding, that can have a devastating impact on housing, crops & livestock.

Goals & Objectives

GOAL

To work alongside rural communities to create sustainable projects to overcome current issues of daily life, such as the effects of drought on livestock and agriculture. Work with volunteers and develop short and long-term solutions to develop sustainable income generating projects that will empower communities.

OBJECTIVES
  • To empower the community by developing projects where knowledge and skills can be shared in partnership with international volunteers.
  • Drought management and relief programs such as introduction of modern agriculture (irrigation through the introduction of green houses as the long rains are never reliable)
  • Developing long term solutions to providing food for both humans and livestock, in the event of droughts.
