Volunteer at Olasiti Primary School which is a rural school, that currently has classes from Pre-school to Class 6. The project creates opportunities for volunteers to work alongside teachers with the delivery of core subjects such as English, Maths & Science.
You will have the opportunity to support students who have a real passion for learning. In the afternoon there are opportunities to plan and facilitate extra-curricular activities, such as sports or Arts & Crafts.
Share knowledge and experiences of teaching from different cultures, to support the development of education in rural communities.
Support pupils with the work that is set, encourage them to work hard and aspire to continue into secondary & higher education.
Goals & Objectives
To be fully committed towards the promotion of Education equally for both Maasai Boys and Girls, however it is equally important for us to extend this commitment to other rural communities and tribes, such as Kikuyu.
- Promote literacy within rural communities and tribes.
- Educate Maasai girls and communities about the ongoing issues and consequences of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and young girls being forced into marriage before the age of 12.
- Enable our Maasai youth to reach their potential and aspirations, so that they can make a positive impact in their lives and the lives of the community.
- Educate our children on the Maasai Traditions and integrating this into their lives.
